Polar codes for the m-user multiple access channels

چکیده

Polar codes are constructed for m-user multiple access channels (MAC) whose input alphabet size is a prime number. The block error probability under successive cancelation decoding is o(2−N 1/2− ), where N is the block length. Although the sum capacity is achieved by this coding scheme, some points in the symmetric capacity region may not be achieved. In the case where the channel is a combination of linear channels, we provide a necessary and sufficient condition characterizing the channels whose symmetric capacity region is preserved upon the polarization process. We also provide a sufficient condition for having a total loss in the dominant face.

Polarization of Multi-Relay Channels: A Suitable Method for DF and CF Relaying with Orthogonal Receiver

Polar codes, that have been recently introduced by Arikan, are one of the first codes that achieved the capacity for vast numerous channels and they also have low complexity in symmetric memoryless channels. Polar codes are constructed based on a phenomenon called channel polarization. This paper discusses relay channel polarization in order to achieve the capacity and show that if inputs of tw...

Polar Codes for the -User Multiple Access Channel

——In this paper, polar codes for the -user multiple access channel (MAC)with binary inputs are constructed. It is shown that Arikan’’s polarization technique applied individually to each user transforms independent uses of an -user binary input MAC into successive uses of extremal MACs. This transformation has a number of desirable properties: 1) the ““uniform sum-rate”” of the original MAC is ...

Fractional Fourier Transform Based OFDMA for Doubly Dispersive Channels

The performance of Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiple Access (OFDMA) system degrades significantly in doubly dispersive channels. This is due to the fact that exponential sub-carriers do not match the singular functions of this type of channels. To solve this problem, we develop a system whose sub-carriers are chirp functions. This is equivalent to exploiting Fractional Fourier Transform (F...

Outage Probability Bound and Diversity Gain for Ultra-Wideband Multiple-Access Relay Channels with Correlated Noises

In this paper, Ultra-wideband (UWB) multiple access relay channel with correlated noises at the relay and receiver is investigated. We obtain outer and inner bounds for the IEEE 802.15.3a UWB multiple access relay channel, and also, a diversity gain bound. Finally, we evaluate some results numerically and show that noise correlation coefficients play important role in determining relay position.

Time-Splitting Multiple-Access

It is shown that the encoding/decoding problem for any asynchronous M -user memoryless multiple-access channel can be reduced to corresponding problems for at most 2M 1 single-user memoryless channels. This is done via a method called time-splitting multiple-access which is closely related to a recently developed method called rate-splitting multiple access. It is also related to to multilevel ...
